Elisabeth Pérez Morales

Elisabeth Pérez Morales is a dedicated advocate for language access and health equityand specializes in serving populations with limited English proficiency (LEP) as well as Deaf and Hard of Hearing. With nearly 30 years of experience addressing health disparities across diverse communities, she is dedicated to educating bilingual and multilingual individuals to become qualified interpreters for healthcare, community, and educational settings.   

Before establishing EPM, Elisabeth served as the Manager of Community Health & Language Services at a major hospital network in Pennsylvania.  She managed teams to ensure access to care for patients with various language needs and served not only as a Language Interpreter but as an Interpreter Trainer for their bilingual and multilingual staff.  Professionals were educated on language access, regulatory obligations, the use of qualified interpreters, and the cultural needs of the populations served. 

Inspired by her lived experience and professional commitment, Elisabeth established EPM to mitigate systemic barriers and to help ensure language does not impede access to quality service.   She speaks at conferences, webinars, social forums, staff, and business meetings and remains actively engaged in interpretation, translation, and education.  

Elisabeth holds a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services from Southern New Hampshire University. She completed Advanced Linguistic and Interpreting course I & II at Penn State University and studied advanced Spanish at Arizona State University. In 2013, obtained her credentials as a Nationally Certified Healthcare Interpreter through the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CHI™); completed the "Train the Trainer" course in 2016 for Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter Trainer.  Elisabeth currently serves as a Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter Trainer for CCHCP’s (Cross Cultural Healthcare Program) Language Access program.
